“This will take me around the world!”
This is what I said to myself when I first picked up my guitar in my early teens. And I wasn't fooling around because back then, my dream was to, get this, be a big-time international rock star! or a worldwide phenomenon if you will. (I do sometimes talk big and have to take it back later.) So, even before I learned to tune my guitar, I’d already begun to study English seriously, preparing for a world tour, interviews, or just a simple conversation about metal in general.
Call me crazy, but I was dead serious.
But the problem was, there was no book available that could equip me with those specific expressions necessary to talk about my favorite metal songs, bands, and more. I remember feeling disappointed, and strongly wishing for that kind of resource.
At 20, I decide to go to college in America. Though my dream of becoming a rock star had already significantly changed by that time (See? I told you!), my love for the music, and the thirst for those phrases, stayed the same. Driven by the need, I'd read, listen, talk metal all through the 4-year stay in America. Talk about being educated! And after another 10 years of the education, I've finally done my first homework!
There you go, my friend! Here are the phrases covering from how you get into metal to playing music seriously in your band. If you want to have fun learning, and produce results, learn a language through the music you love! Why not? Fun and results guaranteed! I'm the living proof!
And, lastly, I hope that this book is fully used by those who want to connect and make friends, and who are dreaming about going global, just like the kid I was.
I dedicate this book to the kid inside of you.
Let's rock the world!
That's it! Hope you liked it!Well, I started out writing the book/ebook for Japanese people like me in mind, who desperately wanted to talk about metal in English. But as I went along, I started to run into music lovers worldwide who would love to learn Japanese through the music they love, and that is how this book became bilingual. It is written for Japanese metalheads to learn English, and for non-Japanese metalheads to learn Japanese. I say, when learning becomes exciting, you concentrate more, and thus, learn more.
